I totally agree with you JMK. I bought this player about a couple months ago and I have to say, this blu-ray outperforms my friends and he paid an extra $200.

This device works as well as more expensive models. It plays commercial Hollywood Blu-rays and discs burned from output of HDV and AVCHD consumer videocams. It plays BD and AVCHD discs burned with Pinnacle Studio 12.1 and Nerovision 9 software. The menus work. It also includes an SD slot. Unlike the “upscale to 1080p” standard DVD players, it delivers real high definition. The price beats the other BD player models.
