The rumors were going this way and that. Toward the conclusion of the anticipated Apple announcement on 10/4, the winner is the iPhone 4s. It’s an iPhone 4 with a better camera (8 megapixel stills and 1080p video) and certain other features. Fans were hoping for 4G to allow speedier downloads. They’ll have to wait until the iPhone 5, in Spring 2012. Nonetheless, the 4s should prove successful when released around 10/14.
Meanwhile, other cell phones continue to attract those seeking 4G and larger, brighter screens. Android, Windows, and Blackberry smartphone systems may be able to breathe easier during the holiday season as they offer features that the Apple 4 series can’t do as yet.
As the holiday season approaches, the mobile phone market has no reigning dominant force from Apple. The market now can “sell” choices. From Blackberry to Samsung, the market belongs to the customer. What smartphone are you aiming for this season?
