Apple just updated its line of high end laptops, the Macbook Pros. What’d they do? Well, the biggest news is that Apple swapped out the current chips for the latest and greatest Core 2 Duos from Intel, providing a huge jump in both performance and efficiency. That means both a speed boost and a battery boost. They also got improved video cards from Nvidia, which should speed up processes like video editing and gaming.
In addition, the laptops all received the new multi-touch trackpad that was first introduced on the super-skinny Macbook Air. The fancy new trackpad allows different commands to be executed depending on how many fingers you have on the trackpad. Just like on the iPhone, you can zoom in and out on photos by pinching two fingers together on the trackpad, which is a pretty neat feature. The laptops come in 13 inch, 15 inch, and 17 inch flavors, so no matter what size you’re looking for, Apple should have you covered.
