In the world of first person shooter games, there isn’t a lot of variation. Generally speaking, you’re a lone hero of some sort with a huge arsenal who’s either in space shooting at aliens or on earth shooting at terrorists or Nazis. That’s not a bad thing, really, but what if you want to mix things up a bit?
That’s what Army of Two is all about. Sure, you’re on Earth shooting at terrorists, but you’re not a lone hero! The game is all about two-person co-operative action. Everything is done with your partner, from taking on enemies to boosting each other over obstacles to providing cover. You can play with a friend locally, play with a friend (or a stranger) online, or just get a computer partner to play with you. But the bottom line is that no matter what, you can’t play alone, which is a nice change of pace from all the other cookie-cutter first person shooters that are so hard to tell apart.
