You’ve heard of Peter Max and Andy Warhol. These modern artists expanded art to popular culture by thinking out of the box, making ordinary extraordinary. Art and appreciation of it doesn’t require canvas or clay. Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead created art for neckties. Romero Britto adds art to strollers.
Romero Britto was born in Recife, Brazil in 1963. Self-taught at an early age, he painted on surfaces such as newspapers. In 1983, he traveled to Paris where he was introduced to the work of Matisse and Picasso. He combined influences from cubism with pop, to create a vibrant, iconic style that The New York Times describes, “exudes warmth, optimism and love.”
Dorel Juvenile Group and the nation’s largest juvenile products manufacturer, today announces a special edition line of Quinny and Maxi-Cosi products designed by celebrated pop artist Romero Britto. The Quinny and Maxi-Cosi Collection by Romero Britto features the artist’s contemporary work on luxury strollers, car seats and accessories. The art adds bright, fun imagery to these products for truly unique experiences.
Quinny and Maxi-Cosi are launching the line on August 23rd at a private event hosted at Britto’s gallery, Britto Central, in Miami Beach, Florida. Romero and Pilar Steinborn, a distinguished fashion stylist and mom, will speak to “The Art of Parenting” and art’s influence in children’s lives. In addition, the new Britto strollers will be on exhibit at New York’s J&R Jr.
