Asus Triggers Evolution Of The Netbook With The T91

Asus Eee PC T91

Asus pioneered the evolution of the netbook, a smaller, lightweight version of a notebook. Now they plan to take their Eee-PC series further up the chain appealing to a wider variety of eclectic users.

For example, the Asus T91, gives the netbook a touch-sensitive swivel screen and adds TouchSuite software. It’s the first netbook tablet sporting an 8.9-inch screen. The Eee PC T91’s unique software applications, collectively known as TouchSuite, allow users to perform a myriad of fun tasks with their fingertips, such as touching up photos, creating photo albums, leaving handwritten desktop memos for loved ones, and sketching cartoons or custom emoticons.

The Asus tablet PC makes it easy to cradle in one arm, letting you read documents, scribble ideas into digital notebooks and surf the Internet while traveling on foot. Other models planned for the Eee PC T91 series will include a TV tuner and integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) for extensive entertainment and advanced navigation capabilities on the go.

As with all Netbooks, 802.11 wireless WiFi has been the fundamental basis of keeping you connected to the Internet and other communication where WiFi hotspots exist. The Eee PC T91 is equipped with 3G plus (HSUPA) technology, enabling high-speed Internet access anywhere. With support for 802.11n, you can now enjoy faster surfing speeds than previous a/b/g wireless standards. You can enjoy quick downloading and streaming of large multimedia files and, with a full range of applications, help enhance your overall communications and computing experience.

An enhanced battery option brings up to 5 hours of performance per full charge. As with all Netbooks, the T91 uses an Intel Atom processor. Storage uses an integrated 16GB SSD and a 1GB SD card is included. It also has 1GB processing memory.

So now you can choose between keyboard and touchscreen input on the new Asus Eee PC T91.

Rumors have it that, sometime in October, Asus plans to release an Eee PC Keyboard. It resembles a keyboard but is also a netbook. It has a 5-inch touchscreen. Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband HDMI wireless connectivity are two unique features we’d love to see.

Asus is spearheading with new applications for its Eee PC series. We’re really curious to see what they are planning for next year.
