The critically acclaimed 10-part mini-series, Band of Brothers has finally arrived on blu-ray. Receiving no shortage of praise, the series was nominated for an unprecedented nineteen Emmy awards, winning six. It also won a Golden Globe and Peabody award.
Band of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company during World War II. Their trials, tribulations and sacrifices are all documented. It really shows the brutality of war, while simultaneously showing us the true grit and camaraderie these brave men had. They were brothers in arms, and most definitely a band of brothers.
This blu-ray release has been highly anticipated. DVD sales have been very successful. Videophiles were clamoring for a high definition release in the US. Japan released an HD DVD version last year that had many people importing it to the tune of $200. Well, wait no longer, it has arrived stateside in glorious 1080p and DTS-HD MA. It is a must own title war junkies and blu-ray fans.
