Blackberry Pearl Is For More Than Business

There are really two types of phones out there: fun phones for taking pictures, sending text messages, and going to the mall, like the Motorola RAZR, and phones for dudes in suits who need to schedule power lunches, like the Blackberry. Well, RIM, manufacturer of Blackberry, is sick of missing out on that entire first demographic by only making clunky yet functional devices. They want to get off the belt clip of your dad and into the purse of your sister.

They plan to do that by stuffing their fat Blackberry into tight pants and calling it Pearl; the Blackberry Pearl that is. Squishing the full QWERTY keyboard from the bigger models into a more modest SureType keyboard, it slims the phone down and makes it so you could actually fit it into your pocket. It still has the powerful web and email functions that make Crackberries must-have gadgets for the business set, but it features the built-in camera and sleek design that makes fashion phones all the rage. What’s not to love?
