If You Say “I Like,” You’re Dead to Me

Yes, the catchphrases are annoying. If I hear one more person at a bar go “Nice!” or “High five!” with a bad accent, I’ll be driven to insanity. However, just because a bunch of idiots co-opted the jokes doesn’t make the original any less funny. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is still perhaps the funniest movie to come out in the last decade, and one that is a must-own in any comedy fan’s DVD collection.
I mean, come on… the wrestling scene in the middle of this movie is perhaps the funniest thing ever put to celluloid, and no matter how stuffy and high brow you are you cannot say you didn’t laugh out loud when you first saw it. Are you trying to tell me that you don’t want to be able to see that scene over and over and over again, whenever you want? If you are, I don’t buy it, not for one second.
