Everyone has someone in their family that is totally technophobic. They think they need to order a computer with “The Google” on it in order to go online and they hold the mouse in the air and wave it around, not understanding why the cursor isn’t moving. Maybe it’s your mom, maybe it’s your grandpa, but there’s no reason for them to be left out of the Internet revolution or whatever we’re calling it this week.
That’s why you should be a good family member and get them set up with the most unthreatening computer possible this holiday season: the Mac mini. Looking completely unlike most big, bulky computers, the Mac Mini is designed to sit on the kitchen counter and look diminutive and gentle. That’s not to say it isn’t powerful; it’ll be able to handle all the web surfing, emailing, and digital photo loading that you can throw at it. Just hook it up to the monitor of your choice, spend a few hours teaching your loved one the basics of proper web surfing and mouse handling, and welcome one more person to the information superhighway. Or global marketplace. Or whatever you want to call it, you know what I mean.
