Call of Juarez Brings the Wild West to Life

Call of Juarez

The wild west is one of those periods of American history that has a very distinct, and very awesome, aesthetic in our minds due to its treatment in movies. From Unforgiven to Back to the Future, Part III, the wild west is seen as a violent, dirty place where only the toughest people could survive. Sounds like a pretty sweet premise for a video game, don’t you think?

Well, you’re not the only one to think that. Call Of Juarez just came out for the Xbox 360, and it hits all the wild-west bases. There’s gunslinging, horseback riding, train robberies, and gold prospecting just as you’d expect and want, all delivered with amazingly realistic HD graphics. There’s a storyline involving some gold, a gunslinging preacher, avenging the death of some family members, and some other stuff, but that’s not the real important thing, is it? The important thing is that you finally have a chance to fire a six-shooter from the back of a horse, in HD no less.
