Casio’s New Digital Camera Shoots 60 Pictures in One Second

Casio EXILIM Pro Ex-F1

Casio’s just unveiled the EXILIM Pro EX-F1, a new high-end amateur camera that can shoot a pretty insane number of pictures in a short amount of time. How many? Try 60 full-resolution shots in one second. It’s designed for action shots, such as people taking photos at sporting events. You take 60 pictures of the receiver leaping up to make the catch, and you can select the perfect shot from just the right time to use.

In addition, it can shoot video at a whopping 1,200 frames-per-second, a feature that’s designed to allow you to shoot super slow-mo clips of things like balloons popping. If you shoot at a regular framerate, it can shoot in 1080i high definition as well. It’s a pretty sizable leap forward in the consumer digital camera market, one that’s sure to have lots of followers when it hits store shelves this spring.
