When Assassin’s Creed released in November of 2007 I was skeptical of how much success a game of its type could have. I mean ‘Historical Science Fiction’ had been made into successful novels but a video game? I really wasn’t buying it. Yet I did. I ran out and plunked down my hard earned cash like the gaming nut that I am and didn’t even wait to get home to unwrap it. From the moment that disc hit the tray I knew I was in for something different. How different, remained to be seen. When it was all over I sat back in my chair left with lots of questions regarding Desmond Miles and the fate of his ancestor Altair. I realized that French game developer and publisher Ubisoft had hooked me into the world of The Assassins, The Templars, and a secret war that had been fought for centuries. With the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, hopefully some of my questions will be answered.
With the holidays closing in is it any wonder that we’ve been treated to a series of blockbuster game releases in the last few weeks? Not at all. November 8th will be a day of particular importance to anyone that loves the First Person Shooter (FPS). Why you ask? That’s because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hits the shelves that day is why! The COD series stands as one of the top franchises in gaming history selling over 50 billion units worldwide to date. Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) looks like it’s going to add to those already impressive numbers.

Sony’s dedicated Playstation Suite, geared for Android-based Playstation Certified Devices, is open today. The Suite launches in nine countries including the US and Canada and is immediately available on Sony’s Tablet S. Ten Playstation One games are available now at the very affordable price of $5.99 each. Tablet S games will include Destruction Derby, Motor Toon Grand Prix, Rally Cross, and Wild Arms.
