Real Steel Is For Real on Blu-ray and DVD Jan. 24th
I was hesitant to plunk down my cash for REAL STEEL starring Hugh Jackman. I mean, I like robots. I like Hugh Jackman. I just wasn’t sure I wanted to see an eyeful of CGI rendered robots duking it out AND Hugh Jackman thrown in there to lend the movie some star power. This was one of those moments that I was oh so happy to be wrong. First, I learned that REAL STEEL was an adaptation of one of my all-time favorite TWILIGHT ZONE episodes, “STEEL”.

The success or failure of television shows can now be measured in episodes as opposed to seasons. Networks are quick to give the hook if a show doesn’t catch fire immediately. So when I see programming that deserves a look, I feel obligated to pass this on to my fellow TV lovers. Now some of these aren’t new but I think they’re worthy of your time and thoughts. Elmore Leonard has to rate in the top three crime novelists in the United States. With that said when I learned that one of his characters was being brought to the small screen I got a little excited. Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens isn’t your typical lawman. Expertly played by Timothy Olyphant, Givens is just as likely to talk his way out of a situation as he is to shoot his way out. The Second Season of Justified releases today on DVD.
