Former NY Mets All-Star pitcher Ron Darling was spotted purchasing a Garmin GPS at J&R.

Ron was the starting pitcher of the 1986 New York Mets team that defeated the Boston Red Sox. Can’t believe 1986 was 22 years ago!

Ronald Maurice Darling (born August 19, 1960) is an American former right-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the New York Mets, Oakland Athletics and Montreal Expos. Darling currently works as a color commentator for national baseball coverage on TBS as well as for the Mets on both SNY and WPIX.

During his 13-year career, Darling amassed a 136–116 won-loss record including 1,590 strikeouts and a 3.87 ERA. He threw 13 shutouts in his career and was selected to the 1985 All-Star team.

Aloha Ron, you are still gorgeous. And you always will be. I remember in 1986, when you and the Mets won the World Series. What a game. I went to bed crying tears of joy. My husband woke up and wondered what's the matter? Are you o.k.? I said, John, the Mets won the World Series. He wasn't too thrilled that I woke him up in the middle of the night, because he had to get to work the next morning. Well, to me, the Mets are extremely important. Especially, when Ron Darling is the winning pitcher. God Bless you always, Barbara Ruiz
