So there was the usual smorgasbord of gadgetry at CES, many of them forgettable, but some were undeniably cool. These 5 products made the cool list in my opinion.
Asus went back to the drawing board and introduced the Asus Eee PC T91. A netbook/touchscreen tablet hybrid. Pretty damn cool.
Panasonic announced the 09 line up of the award winning Plasma display panels named the G10. This new generation promises even deeper black levels and less power consumption. Internet connectivity via Viera link, the proprietary Panasonic technology is also improved. I look forward to seeing these displays in action later this year when they are released.
Samsung laid down the gauntlet, and let the other CE corporations that their playback devices are aesthetically lacking. They unveiled the ultra slick, 1.5″ thick BD-P4600. It’s a wall mountable blu-ray player. Complete profile 2.0, does the lossless audio codecs and is wireless a/b/g/n. It will stream Netflix and Pandora. A sweet machine indeed.
Finally, an iPhone killer. Introducing the Nokia N97. A full qwerty keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, touchscreen with an actual 16×9 true widescreen aspect ratio. I know many of you out there want a phone like the iPhone, but detest the fact that owning one will make you look like a pretentious hipster. Is that what you want?
Ever wanted to have cool gadgets that multitask like James Bond? How about a watchphone? Yup, LG premiered a watch that doubles as a phone. Practical? Hell no! Cool? Hell yes!
