Check Your Nintendo DS into “Hotel Dusk”

Hotel Dush Room 215

The surprise story in the game world was the Nintendo DS. It’s been sold out for the entire post-Christmas season. No stores have any in stock, and Nintendo has no more in its warehouses; the company had to issue an official apology, as they didn’t want stores to feel short-changed. Nintendo really had no idea their products would so popular, but they must be doing backflips now — they produced THE must-have game systems of the year, the DS and the Wii. Starpulse has the full story, along with some numbers.

Since we’re one of the fortunate ones that got a DS awhile back, we’re going to tell you about our favorite DS game, Hotel Dusk Room 215. It’s an amazing little detective story that you direct, set in 1979 in Los Angeles. You’re an ex-cop tracking down a killer, as you point and click your way around the city with your stylus. The characters are realistic and compelling, the puzzles are challenging without making you jump through hoops and the possible outcomes are endless. We especially love the graphics, they’re like something out of a super-cool underground comic book. Hotel Dusk Room 215 is getting great reviews all over, from GameSpot and 1UP to GamePro and EGM. If you have a DS (or know someone who does) this is one of its must-have games for 2007.
