Cisco Linksys paints a Cloudy future that shines on Connectedness
How far can you be while still being close? You may need to think out of the box for an answer. You might turn to Cisco for a clue. Cisco Connect Cloud may have an answer that helps upgrade the flexibilities and conveniences of intimacies. It’s all about connecting in optimal ways at home and away from home. A Cisco Cloud helps make distance seem obsolete.
When it comes to multiple computers or mobile devices, carrying mobile hard drives may not be practical for all applications. Hard drives or other mobile storage use by computers may not be compatible with your tablet or smartphone. For a better way of finding more universal storage and access one must look up to the sky. There are clouds. In the same way that clouds store moisture, electronic clouds store data of all kinds. It’s a very connected network where you can store all or some of your valued data. Companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, and many more operate electronic clouds to provide spots for storage. No matter what mobile device you use, you can access the cloud through a URL or an app. Security and privacy is present through your user-ID and password. Cisco, the royalty of networking, offers this service as a feature on some select Linksys routers.
Cisco announced the availability of Cisco Connect Cloud, a software platform for Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers that redefines and dramatically simplifies how you connect, control and interact with your connected devices, including personal entertainment and home appliances. Cisco Connect Cloud is designed to handle all the tiresome and complicated technical aspects of home network set-up and connecting devices to the network. This enables the average person to get on with using and enjoying Internet service, as well as a wide range of new uses enabled by the home network.
Cisco also announced the availability of its Cisco Connect Cloud mobile APP, which provides easy access to Cisco Connect Cloud on a smartphone or tablet, while at home or on the go. One breakthrough feature with Cisco Connect Cloud is SimpleTap. SimpleTap lets you connect devices to their Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router with as little as one tap of a button or with a quick swipe or scan of a device or tag, making it easier than ever to add devices to the network.
There are six new developer apps including an app that lets people search and “beam” online videos to a Smart TV or AirPlay compatible device; an app that helps install home monitoring cameras and enables monitoring at home and on the go; and apps that give parents easy ways to keep their children safe online, even when mom and dad are not at home.
The six new mobile apps can be obtained through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (formerly known as Android Marketplace). These apps can enhance entertainment experiences, make consumers lives easier, and help make the web safer. The spectrum of apps will continue to expand with apps from Cisco and additional third-party developers.
Connecting is as easy as pressing the virtual Wi-Fi Protected Setup button in the mobile app and, in the near future, as easy as scanning a Near Field Communications (NFC) tag that may be bundled with or integrated in various consumer electronic (CE) products.
Because of the importance of superior usability in the connected home, Cisco has been working with a range of CE device and home appliance manufacturers on partnerships that deliver better experiences to providers and users.
Clouds help allow people to connect and do all types of things that we always thought were beyond possibility. From commerce to home and all points between, concepts and realities are being redefined. You can expect other network manufacturers to extend farther into clouds and continually reap benefits. When you contemplate cloudy futures, your outlook may be sunny and brighter.
