Dallas Hits DVD, Finally

Dallas, although it may be the butt of many jokes at this point, was revolutionary when it first hit the air in 1978. It was the first prime-time soap opera, the first nighttime drama that got people hooked on the melodramatic lives of the rich and soon-to-be-famous. Plus, it really showcases the golden age of Patrick Duffy, who really went downhill when he was stuck in the dregs of TGIF sitcom hell.
All six seasons of Dallas are coming soon to DVD, allowing you to relive all the backstabbing and sexual tension of the original series. Included are the “Who Shot JR?” episodes, some of the most famous and most referenced moments in pop culture history. So sit back, pop some popcorn, and relive the birth of prime time soaps, the granddaddy of your precious 90210 and O.C. It’s television created before reality TV came around and changed the prime time landscape, and while it might not have a super-high level of purity and quality to show for it, at least it’s still as guiltily entertaining as you remember it.
