Thanking the in-store audience for supporting his music internationally on May 15, 2007, Da’Ville showed why he has been a top artist in Jamaica by pouring his soul into his songs of love and promise from his first North American CD On My Mind released on VP Records.

Known as the “Big Bad Singer”, his sweet voice flowed rhythmically through pain-filled, longing lyrics. Performing the single and the album’s title song, as remixed by popular Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist, Sean Paul, Da’Ville, the brings the dreamy sound of his pop ballad to New York’s classic downtown record store, J&R Music World.

Orville Thomas, aka Da’Ville, is a tall, slender twenty-five year old singing sensation from Kingston, Jamaica. He started singing at the tender age of twelve while in high school in the school choir. He is from a strong musical background; his dad was a singing star in the 70’s who recorded songs that filled the airwaves in Jamaica and abroad. Upon graduating from high school, Da’Ville and four other young men formed a group called ARP which performed with Beenie Man and with Shaggy on several hits.

Included on On My Mind, the Reggae Soca Award wining cut “All My Life” performed with Marcia Griffiths (formally a back-up singer for Bob Marley).

Da’Ville a singer, song writer and composer of reggae, pop/rock and love songs from his life experiences is inspired by Bob Marley, Maxi Priest, Lenny Kravitz, Beres Hammond, Michael Jackson, Sade and D’Angelo. He achieved chart-topping success in Japan with two earlier CDs, “In Heaven” and “Can’t Get Over You” on Fashozy Records.

Da’Ville gave definitive proof his highly melodic music doesn’t come from electronics by closing the in-store set with a heart-wrenching acappella version of “This Time I Promise“.
