Desperate Housewives…the Game?

Desperate Housewives is one of the hottest shows on TV - maybe that means it’ll turn into the next hot game. Yeah, crazy as it sounds, they’re going to release “Desperate Housewives: The Game” within the next few months. Sounds corny, but it actually seems like it has potential.

Desperate HousewivesIt’s set up like older versions of “The Sims”, except you’re in the setting from the show (Wisteria Lane). The game takes place early in the first season, and lets you interact with all the characters from the hit show. Only one of the stars does any voice acting here, but the rest are voiced by decent impersonators. If you’re a fan of the show, it’ll be close enough; if you aren’t, you won’t miss anything.

The game plays like an interactive episode from the show’s beginning. You move into the neighborhood and talk to the other Desperate Housewives - that’ll give you little bits of information you can act on. Then you’re off to learn the other women’s juicy little secrets and enjoy the drama that ensues. You get rewarded by being naughty - from breaking into someone’s house to following them around & spying on them. You can choose not to do this stuff, and taking the high road leads to tougher challenges. So you can be a bad girl & get what you need quickly, or you can be a good girl and face more complex puzzles. Decide which one you’d prefer and go for it.

Since you’ll probably choose to be a naughty girl (that *IS* the fun of the show, after all), the game tests your ability to get away with it. If you’re caught stealing, lying or gossiping you’ll be challenged to come up with a really good lie to smooth things over. It can be nerve-wracking but it can be a lot of fun, too. It looks like it’ll be different, and it should be a hit with fans of the show.
