Digitize Your Vinyl For Listening on the Go

Audio Technica USB Turntable

There’s certainly nothing wrong with collecting vinyl despite all sorts of new formats having come out since its inception. Vinyl delivers the kind of emotional attachment that only a big object can, something MP3s can’t compete with. It’s great for listening on your setup at home, but you run in to trouble when you head out of the house. A portable record player would be pretty unwieldy, after all.

That’s why something like this Audio Technica AT-LP2DPRO LP-Record to Digital Recorder Turntable to PC Solution is so great. First, it’s an awesome turntable that’ll make your old records sound like the first day you pulled them from their sleeves. Second, it hooks up to your computer, allowing you to digitize your records for posterities sake. Now you can load up your iPod with your own rips of your personal vinyl collection. It’s like bringing that warm fuzzy feeling with you wherever you go, not to mention those vinyl-only bonus tracks that the CD lovers are missing out on.

    Thanks a lot.

I just tossed all my old LPs last year because I don't have a turntable to play them on. I had some rare records too, cluttering my apartment so I gave them to the Salvation Army.

I had no idea I could have used your great sounding product.

My question here is why don't you list the price of this item? Make it easier for readers to know exactly what the cost is.

How does it connect to the computer? USB? Item description doesn't say.

There are 2 models for this turntable. One is an RCA audio connection the other does have a USB connection.

I don't see two models on the J&R website. I would need the USB model.

Two questions: 1) what is the signal/noise spec. of the preamp? 2) can you use another stereo cartridge other than the one provided?
