Even though flat panel LCD and plasma screen TVs are all the rage nowadays, they aren’t the only quality HDTVs out there. If you’re looking for a really large screen to base your home theatre around, DLP technology actually offers amazing picture quality for much less than a flat panel, and they’ve gotten so thin lately they really aren’t all that much thicker than their wall-hanging brethren.
Check out this Samsung HL-S7178W 71-inch WideScreen DLP Television with 1080p HDTV resolution, for example. It’s a monster at 71 viewing inches, but it’s priced much less than any flat panel of that size. And hey, it’s only twenty inches thick, which isn’t too bad, although you won’t be hanging it on your wall any time soon. The picture quality, however, is stop notch. With full 1080p resolution, a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, and Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer, you’ll be blown away with how great your TV, movies, and games look. Hey, who needs a flat panel, anyways?
