Ensure Your HDTV Experience is Smooth with 120Hz Sets

Sony KD-L32XBR4

LCD HDTVs are great, but with some of them you can run into a peculiar problem: motion blur. While the picture is amazingly crisp and bright, when things are moving quickly they tend to be a blurry. It’s a frustrating problem, one that arises from converting TV framerates to LCD’s standard 60 frame-per-second rate.

How do you solve this problem? You pick up a TV that runs at 120Hz, effectively doubling the framerate and smoothing the picture out. Not a lot of TVs run at 120Hz, and most of the ones that do are very high end (read: expensive), but you can get a deal if you look carefully. Check out this Sony KD-L32XBR4 32″ Class Bravia XBR LCD HDTV 31.5″ diagonal Widescreen, for example. It’s a beautiful HDTV that’s got 120Hz MotionFlow as one of its main features, which means you’re basically guaranteed a smooth picture even when the action gets heated. And heated action scenes are what HDTV is all about.
