Eternal Sonata is one of the most unique games you’re likely to ever play. While it might look like your standard Japanese RPG, it features a story and concept that set it distinctly apart from your standard dragon-slaying, magic-wielding fare.
First of all, the entire story takes place in the dreams of famous music composer Frederic Chopin. Yes, you read that right. As the maestro lays dying, a rich fantasy world plays out in his mind, one that just so happens to be illustrated with some of the most beautiful graphics to ever grace a console. The fantasy-centered story deals with music, environmentalism, good, evil, light, and dark. And, would you believe it, you’ll actually learn something from it, as it provides loads of accurate historical information about Chopin as well as much of his music. It’s appropriate for kids to play, but it’ll also appeal to adults. You can’t say that about most video games, but then, Eternal Sonata isn’t most video games.
