Fujitsu’s LifeBook Sheds Some Pounds

Laptops are supposed to be portable, despite some monsterous desktop replacements that are more movable than portable. So when a laptop maker unleashes a lighter laptop, we’ve got to give them kudos for making a laptop that’s more in touch with its inner sense of purpose. Or something. Right?
Anyways, everybody likes light laptops. That’s why it’s nice to see something like Fujitsu’s LifeBook S6510, a 14-inch laptop that weighs in at a mere 4 pounds. With it weighing that little, you can easily toss it in your bag and nearly forget that you have a computer with you at all, which is more than you can say for these 17-inch, 10-pound monsters that we see out there. In addition to being light as a box full of features, it’s not skimping under the hood. It comes loaded with Intel Core Duo 2 processor, an LED backlit WXGA display, a webcam and fingerprint scanner. So if you’re sick of getting back problems from lugging your “portable” laptop around, maybe it’s time to get one that actually lives up to its name.
