Get Close to the Action with Sony’s H9

If you like getting close to the action with your photos but don’t want to go all out and get some crazy detachable zoom lens, you option, until now, have been pretty limited. Don’t worry; Sony has your back.

Their new H9 Cyber-shot has a monster 15x optical zoom slapped on it that is sure to make zooming in and getting right into the pores of your subjects much easier. Optical zooms are much better than digital zooms, as the optical zoom refers to the physical lens itself. A digital zoom merely gets closer in on a picture taken from further back, essentially cropping the photo as you’re taking it. For quality zooms, optical can’t be beat, which is exactly what Sony delivered today.

What else is the H9 packing? Well, you’ll get 8 megapixel snaps that you can view on a healthy 2.5-inch LCD screen, for starters. It’s a medium sized camera, one that’ll create a big ol’ bulge in your pocket but one that won’t require you to tote around an additional backpack to carry it in when you go out to take photos.
