Give Your Living Room a Brain

Sony Vaio Digital Living System

This Sony Vaio VGX-XL2 Digital Living System isn’t just a computer. No, I don’t think so. I mean, does your computer hold 200 CDs or DVDs? No? How about HDMI output? No, not that either? I didn’t think so.

No, this Vaio is a “living system,” a huge hunk of machinery designed to go in your living room rather than your office and act as the guts of a pretty serious home theater setup. Featuring 320GB of hard drive space to store all your music and recorded TV shows, it’ll act as a personal jukebox and replacement DVR setup. You can also store basically all your movies in that monster 200-disc CD/DVD changer, making fumbling with DVD cases a thing of the past. And it’s got a DVD burner as well, allowing you to back up those recorded shows to free up space if need be. Oh, and it can also on online and do all the other stuff that a normal computer can do, so there’s that too. Makes your normal TiVo seem pretty stupid in comparison, doesn’t it?
