Got a Wii or PS3? Now You Need some Games!

The day after PS3 was released, we caught this guy hanging out in front of the store, trying to sell his for $4,000. We don’t know if he got any takers, but Real New Yorkers know there’s a good chance that box was filled with enough bricks or old newspapers to weigh roughly as much as a PS3. We’re guessing that whoever took it home opened it up & got a whole lotta nuthin’ for their four G’s.

PS3 Seller Outside of J&R

We’re taking a look at some of the new games available for the Wii and the PS3. Sadly, we’re sold out of both (just like everywhere else, apparently) but the games have us salivating and we have plenty in stock for both systems. We’re really enjoying the Wii’s control setup — it’s totally different and more interactive. Using it after years of gamepads and joysticks is different, but we’re already used to it. The graphics and multiplayer options for the PS3 have blown us away and makes us wish we had one at home.

Both the Wii and the PS3 have some great games in common. We’re not golfers here, but Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is a lot of fun. So were NBA 2K7 and Tony Hawk’s Project 8. What impressed us most was Call of Duty 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Both games are incredible on both systems. Wii seems to be going after gamers who just want a fun experience. Their first wave is a mix of old-school classics like Bonk’s Adventure, Sonic The Hedgehog and Space Harrier II with newer must-haves like Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and Zelda Twilight Princess. The first wave of PS3 games seem to be going for gamers who want a total cinematic experience — that feeling of watching and, to some degree, controlling a big-budget movie. Games like Genji: Days of the Blade, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, Resistance: Fall of Man and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire deliver all the thrills of the biggest & best hit movies. This isn’t to pigeonhole either system, of course — they’re both great and both show a tremendous variety of gaming choices. Real gamers should consider picking up both systems, to get the best of all possible worlds.
