These days, it seems anything Will Smith touches turns to gold. Hancock, the latest blockbuster title from Smith is no different. It grossed close to $625,000,000 worldwide.
Hancock is not your typical superhero affair. Yes, he’s gifted with superhuman strength. He can fly and is invulnerable. However, he’s also a sloppy alcoholic. Falling out of favor with the public, he agrees to improve his public image after saving the life of a PR exec, played by Jason Bateman of Arrested Development fame. The movie takes some interesting twists and turns along the way from there.
The movie makes a strong impression on blu-ray. Sharp, clean and vivid, the picture quality does not disappoint. Equally impressive is the lossless Dolby TrueHD audio track. It’s fast, furious and heavy hitting. Dialog is crisp and clear.
If you are a fan of Will Smith or superhero flicks, then Hancock should not be missed.
