It looks like this, the Pantech PN-810, is going to be Helio’s next phone, something they hinted at when I talked to them at CES in January.
These pictures are currently making their way through the FCC’s Byzantine approval labyrinth, so it hasn’t officially been announced yet, but scuttlebutt has it that we should expect this sometime before the summer sun is overhead.
So let’s take a look, shall we? It’s a Smartphone with a dual-slider design, much like Samsung’s upcoming F520. The big difference (besides the Helio phone being available here and the F520 being Korea-only) is that while the Samsung has but one keypad that slides in two directions, the Helio is a three-layer phone. The bottom layer slides to the side with a QWERTY keyboard, the middle layer slides down with a numerical keypad, and the top layer is the screen. Other features include EVDO wireless internet, a 2.1-megapixel camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. It looks like a pretty snazzy Smartphone, but we’ll have to reserve judgment till we get more concrete details. Stay tuned.
