Hop Behind the Driver’s Seat in Grid

Ah, racing. It’s all about the thrill of the competition, the speed, the tires on the pavement and the beautiful, beautiful cars. Unfortunately for you, you aren’t a great driver, don’t own a racecar, and you live in one of the least drivable cities in the country, let alone raceable. What’s a race hound to do?

My recommendation: accept that you won’t be racing outside of video games anytime soon, then dive head first into video game racing. And if you’re going to do that, a good start would be Grid for the Playstation 3. Grid puts you behind the wheel of some of the most powerful and expensive cars on the planet and lets you rip through a number of cities throughout the US, something that will never, ever happen to you outside of the video game world. But you know what? When you crash that Ferrari into the Washington Monument going 80 MPH, you’ll probably be pretty happy that it’s just happening on the TV. Maybe things are best this way.
