House of the Dead Brings Shooter Action to the Wii

The House of the Dead series is a series of arcade games that feature big plastic guns and consist of you shooting at a series of zombies as they unrelentingly come at the screen and try to devour your brains. They’re fun games, but rather difficult to translate to home consoles. At least they were, before the Nintendo Wii came out with its motion sensing controller.

Now we’ve got House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return, two of the hit arcade games ported to the Wii. It’s the perfect way to play this type of game at home just as it was intended. You simply use the Wii controller as a gun, aim it at the screen, and mow down as many zombies as you can. It’s got the same great graphics as you remember from the arcade, and, even better, you don’t have to keep pumping quarters into it to keep playing.
