“I Am Legend” Destroys NYC For Your Entertainment

Hollywood loves destroying New York City. Be it by aliens, zombies, natural disasters, or whatever other horrible calamities that can be dreamt up, no city on earth has been destroyed as many times on film as our lovely home. And hey, why not? What other city has as many smashably recognizable landmarks? And who doesn’t get a kick out of seeing places that we see every day destroyed on film only to walk out our doors to the same old NYC?

That’s why movies such as I Am Legend are so popular. You get to see Will Smith driving around a deserted and overgrown Times Square! An eerily quiet city at night! Washington Square Park exploding all over the place! It’s inherently exciting, and when you add in a healthy dose of creepy, sun-hating zombies you end up with a movie that’s pretty tough to resist as far as popcorn fare goes.
