I Have a Personal Cloud Thanks to Pogoplug (Product Review)

Share

In this world of cloud-filled devices I came across the Pogoplug Classic Media Sharing Device and was astonished at its simplicity and functionality. The Pogoplug allows you to connect any external hard drive then access and share your media over the internet. Sounded simple enough and Pogoplug certainly made it that way. Set up was easy and fast and in a few minutes I had my own Personal Cloud. Test One: CHECK

For me the real test would be remote access. So I decided to walk around our neighborhood in Brooklyn with my HTC One S (the device works with pretty much any smartphone, btw) and snapped a couple of pictures along the way. It was easy to access the Pogoplug and in seconds my pictures were safe and secure at home. Test Two: CHECK

Once I was back home my thoughts wandered (as they often do) to my huge library of Science Fiction films. I wanted to have access to that through my existing A/V hardware. Pogoplug was up to the challenge. It streamed video and audio flawlessly as it became the media server for my XBOX 360. In no time at all my router was feeding Star Trek to my XBOX 360 in vivid color accompanied by crisp audio. Test Three: CHECK

There are so many possibilities with this incredible device and I have only scratched the surface. The Pogoplug Classic Media Sharing Device requires an external hard drive and router. Are you still here? Go get one. Now!
