Intel’s Metro Laptop is the Thinnest Ever

If you thought PCs never got as slim or as sexy as Macs, take a look at Intel’s Metro, their new concept laptop. It’s the world’s thinnest laptop, clocking in at a mere 0.7-inches thick. In effect, it makes the MacBook like it’s been packing on the pounds. This is one seriously thin machine, barely thicker than a RAZR phone.
But what about the guts? It’s what’s inside that counts, after all. Well, the Metro’s got a top-of-the-line Intel chipset and an always-on web connection, thanks to its inclusion of WiFi, EVDO, and WiMax connectivity. It also has a screen on the front, allowing you to access stuff like RSS feeds or your music player without opening it up. Plus, did I mention it’s really thin and very sexy?
There’s no word on when this will come out or how much it’ll cost, but it’s sure to be relatively expensive. However, it’s nice to see a PC laptop design come out that really takes on Apple’s dominance in the design field. Bring on the sexy laptop war!
