iOS6: Best New Features
iOS6 is available today and it will make your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch better than it has ever been. The questions isn’t “Should you upgrade?”, it’s “Why haven’t you upgraded already?” Here are a few of the reasons why.
Panorama Photos
Okay I know there are a ton of cameras that already have this stitch feature available to them. I own a couple. But this is part of iOS6 and it allows you to easily take W—I—D—E photos and then pass them along to your friends. Silly fun I know, but isn’t that the point?
Passbook
I don’t fly a lot. However, I do shop and I get tired of carrying all of my varied gift cards with me. With Passbook, your screen now becomes a scannable gift card, or a coupon, etc., all without having to carry wads of paper or bulky pieces of plastic. No more forgetting that gift card at home with Passbook.
Facebook
We all use it. Haters are gonna hate but admit it, we all use Facebook. iOS6 has now integrated Facebook into the nuts and bolts of the system for smoother, simpler operation. My personal favorite in this feature? Being able to sync my contact list with individual Facebook accounts. Tap, tap, tap done!
Improved Siri
Never really into HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Freaked me right out. Just like SKYNET. So Siri wasn’t much of a draw for me. With that in mind the honey-voiced assistant can now perform even more tasks such as provide you with movie ratings and sports scores. She still seems aurally challenged so remember to speak clearly!
Ignoring Calls
Ok, this one is kind of bad but I had to admit I was strangely drawn to it. Ignoring calls was usually an abrupt often disrespectful affair. Now with iOS6 you can setup more humane methods of ignoring your friends. Preset text messages, reminders to call said “friend” back, or truly customized responses for that certain someone you can’t talk to at the moment but DEFINITELY want to talk to later. A really smart addition by Apple.

Truly Customizable Privacy Settings for All Apps! (That’s a big one!)
Facetime over 3G
New Look Music App (it really is just cosmetics)
iOS6 is another win for Apple. I’ll never get tired of saying that. Nor should you. So grab your i-device of choice and go get that upgrade. It is well worth it.
