NARM, the National Association of Recording Merchandisers, held its annual convention last month. The convention is where the music retail industry gathers to network, discuss changes within the industry and also plan for the future. At each convention, awards are handed out to retailers & labels that have excelled in different areas.
This year, J&R won the Marketing Award for their innovative television, print and subway ads.

J&R CEO Rachelle Friedman accepted the award and followed it with a very heartfelt speech about the industry, how J&R rebounded after 9/11, and how important music is to her.
