We are sorry for your experience at J&R Express at Macy's. Thank you very much for bringing this matter to our attention.

The Store Manager has authorized a full refund, no restocking fee, if you wish to return the unit to J&R Express @ Macy's Herald Square. In addition, we are insuring that all cell phones will be on display so we may avoid a recurrence of your experience.

Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have always trusted J&R to be honest, reliable and never hesitated to make purchases there or to recommend it to my friends.
I bought a cell phone (Motorola L7) at your express store at Macy’s Herald Square on Sunday, 11/29/09, and was very disappointed in J&R.
First, the salesperson, George, did not have a sample model to show me. He claimed that all he could do was to show me the printed specifications, which I had already pulled off the Internet. I felt something was wrong, but trusted my judgment of J&R. When he brought me the box with the telephone, I noticed that it was not sealed, and proceeded to open it. He stopped me and said he “was not allowed” to let me open the box until the product had been purchased. I thought it was very strange, but, again, trusted that J&R would not do anything “fishy.”
When I got home, in Queens, I realized after opening the box that it was a Cingular phone with the Cingular logo on it and with the Cingular customizations. Had I known it before, I would have made a different choice.
I decided to return the merchandise because I felt lied to, but I realized by reading the back of the receipt (003-873-3966, RM 71702463-299 10:17AM, 11/29/09) that I would have to pay 15% restocking fee. How dishonest is that for J&R?
