Koss Portapro Delivers Wicked Sound

Looking for reference quality headphones that don’t break the bank? Well, look no further than the Koss Portapro headphones.

These folding headphones were first introduced to the market by Koss in 1984, and for almost a quarter of a century, have been highly regarded by users and reviewers alike.

Built from the ground up with mylar, the Portapro will deliver deep, rich bass and distortion free sound. Essentially, you will hear the music exactly how the artist intended it to be. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s as accurate a sound that you can get from any headphone in the sub $100 category.

The Portapro are a tremendous set of cans for anyone on a budget. You can’t go wrong with them.

These are great little headphones. These are awesome on my iPod Touch. They are not going to blow away the two hundred dollar headphones, but they are probably the best bang for the buck. I have owned them for years, I have only encountered one problem. The foam around the earpiece wears out rapidly, make sure and purchase extra foam sets for five extra bucks.

These head-phones are the best! The sound quality is comparable to anything 20 times the price.

Another advantage to these headphones is that their sound doesn't leak - - so you're being very kind to fellow subway riders.

Like sdbobbyt I also encountered the issue with the foam wearing out. But the replacement foam set is more than just one set.

I am, however, about to get my third pair; my satchel fell to the floor, and the plastic snapped. That having been said, I'm still getting them.

I love that this product hasn't changed in 25 years, a virtual eternity in technological years, simply because Koss got it right. The PortaPro sound is clear and deep, and a single pair powered me through a whole doctoral thesis.

(Unfortunately at the end of that thesis process, one of the plastic clips holding the two sliding metal bands broke, but hey look, Koss has a got a lifetime warranty! I sent off my old PortaPro's with $6 and am eagerly waiting for the new ones to arrive.)
