Learn About China on Your Nintendo DS

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you’re probably well aware that the summer Olympics kick off in Beijing in a couple of weeks. Exciting! But if you’re like most Americans, your understanding of the Chinese language and culture is a few notches below adequate. Want to brush up in preparation for the games?

No need to sign up for a class. Just grab yourself a copy of My Chinese Coach for the Nintendo DS. It’s a mini class disguised as a video game. It’s packed to the gills with all sorts of information on China, as well as some beginner’s lessons in Chinese. You can take it with you wherever you go, learning on the subway, at home, or in the waiting room at the doctor’s office. Then, when the games come around, you’ll have a much better understanding of where they’re being held. It’s not too late!
