Lose Yourself in “Dark Messiah of Might and Magic”

Fantasy movies such as the Lord of the Rings series are hugely popular for a reason: people love to be swept away into these magical worlds that are so different than our own. And why not? Entertainment such as movies and video games are meant as a form of escapism, so you might as well embrace it.

That’s why you should get excited for the upcoming Xbox 360 game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements. It’s got all the trappings of a guilty pleasure video game: a rich fantasy world that liberally borrows from Tolkien’s works, magic, orcs, elfin text, swords, and everything else you’ve come to expect from this sort of movie, book, or video game. You take control of Sareth, a young hero who’s out to destroy the Dark Messiah, who is undoubtedly trying to ruin the world for some dastardly reason or another. You’ll have all sorts of magic and skill at your disposal to achieve your goals, and you’re sure to forget all about whatever is going on in “reality” after just a few minutes of playing. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
