If there’s one genre of games that’s sorely lacking on the Xbox 360, it’s Japanes RPGs. Sure, there’s Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata, but neither of those games really captured the imagination like the Final Fantasy series, which, at least at the moment, is exclusive to the Playstation consoles. What’s a Japanese RPG fan to do?
Never fear, help is coming, and it’s coming in the form of upcoming import Lost Odyssey. You play as Kaim, a guy who can’t die (good news for you) and has been alive for 1,000 years, but can’t seem to remember the past (bad news for you). That’s the setup for what turns into a massive, epic quest set in a world that’s on the verge of a “mystical industrial revolution.” It remains to be seen whether or not Lost Odyssey can stand up to the venerable ranks of the Final Fantasy series, but I for one look forward to finding out.
