Manhunt 2 to Arrive in a Swirl of Bloody Controversy

There’s been a lot of controversy in the news lately about an upcoming game by the makers of the Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar Games, a company that never seems to be too far from a media storm. The game in question is Manhunt 2, and it was just banned from being sold in England because the game is “distinguishable from recent high-end video games by its unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone in an overall game context which constantly encourages visceral killing with exceptionally little alleviation or distancing. There is sustained and cumulative casual sadism in the way in which these killings are committed, and encouraged, in the game.”
Lucky for you, this ain’t England, and you’ll have your chance to see what all the fuss is all about come July 10th. Coming to the Wii, Playstation 2, and PSP consoles, Manhunt 2 is about as violent and as bleak as they come. Pitting you against numerous foes out to kill you, you need to take them down before they have their shot using whatever you have at hand. You’ll use everything from broken glass and pens to axes and knives to do away with your enemies in often gruesome ways. Sure, it’s not something you’d want your 8-year-old playing, but you’re a grown up, and unlike the Brits, we think you’re old enough to handle it.
