The Metroid series is one of the most-loved set of video games in history. The original Metroid on the NES was one of the defining platformers of that generation, and Super Metroid on the SNES took it a huge step forward. When the series moved to the GameCube, it became a first-person shooter, which could have been a disaster. Instead, it took everything that was great about the series and brought it forward. Now, with a new Nintendo console out (the Wii), it’s time for the next groundbreaking installment.
And it’s coming this week! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the latest and (hopefully) greatest entry in the series yet, allowing you to control Samus and aim her gun with the Wiimote, putting you more in the game than ever before. You’ll be able to pilot her ship for the first time ever as well, bringing a whole new element to the series. Basically, if you like Metroid, even a little bit, you’re going to need to pick this game up as soon as possible.
