Motorola Xoom First Tablet To Run Android 3.0 Honeycomb

Share

Having a 10.1″ screen, both front and rear facing cameras, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space – the Motorola Xoom tablet is promised to be the greatest Android device to hit the market yet.

Expected to be released early this year, the Motorola Xoom is the first tablet that will run the highly anticipated operating platform known as Honeycomb.

What is Honeycomb going to be like? Here’s a sneak peak from AndroidDevelopers on YouTube:

Devices running Android sold extremely well in 2010. According to Nielsen’s, Android grabbed 13% of the market share. Blackberry maintained the lead with 35%, followed by Apple with 28%.

As the first tablet hitting retail shelves running Honeycomb, there is great excitement about the Motorola Xoom. With Blackberry offering very little in the tablet field, Android is the only real competition for the Apple iPad that has swept the market.

Brian Tong from CNET takes a closer look at the hardware:

If you need an Android tablet right away and don’t want to wait, take a look at the ones we currently have available.
