MovieStation Brings Digital Downloads Into Your Living Room

Movie Station

Downloading movies, TV shows and music is all the rage these days, with digital media quickly becoming the standard for how people consume entertainment. Rather than cluttering up homes and apartments with DVDs and CDs, people are turning to hard drives to store all of their media. The problem? Hard drives, generally speaking, are connected to computers. What if you want to watch movies on, you know, your TV?

That’s where the Trekstor 88550 MovieStation maxi t.u 500GB Multi-Media External Hard Drive comes in. It’s an external hard drive that you can hook up to your computer and load up with media, but you can also hook it up to your TV. When you do that, you can watch videos stored on board without a computer being on or connected at all. It comes with a remote control, allowing you to sit back on the couch and watch what you want, just like you’re used to.

you would have to convert your files to either .iso (roughly 4gb) or AVI (roughly 700mb). I replaced the dvd player in my van with this, although not recommended by manufacturer, and it has worked flawlessly for the past year or so. It can easily hold a few hundred movies converted to avi, and there is no noticeable difference between iso and avi on a 9" screen.
