My Boyfriend Gave Me An Icon Jawbone and I Like It!
Like anyone, I love getting gifts. But, when my boyfriend recently gave me the Icon Jawbone the first thought that crossed my mind was “what the heck is this thing?” It turns out that the Jawbone is an easy to use Bluetooth device that provides crisp, clear sound, blocks out background noise extremely well, and fits comfortably.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a very tech savvy individual. Although the Jawbone had a cool, sleek design (I have the Bombshell), at first I thought that I’d spend hours trying to figure out how to use this thing. In the end, it took me longer to open the box than learn how to use the Jawbone itself. In fact, I connected the device to both my personal cell phone and work Blackberry in less than 27 seconds. (I actually timed it.) This is one of the best things about the Jawbone – it can be easily linked to two phones simultaneously, making it easy to accept a call from one phone while on a call with the other. In addition, the Jawbone holds its charge for up to 4.5 house of talk time and 10 days of standby time. The device itself lets you know how much talk time is remaining simply by pressing the talk button. This makes it easy to know when its time to recharge.
I was surprised at the sharp, crystal clear sound that I heard using the Jawbone. The device provides sound that is actually better than on my cell phones ear piece. I was even more surprised by how well the Jawbone blocked out back ground noise. Even with the harsh winter winds that have been cutting through the streets of downtown Manhattan recently, the Jawbone’s NoiseAssassin 2.5 with wind reduction (which was originally developed for military use) eliminates background noise ensuring that my message is heard loud and clear. I find myself regularly using my Jawbone purely for the clarity of its audio rather than the convenience of a hands-free device.
Finally, it’s important to note that the Icon Jawbone is extremely comfortable. Let’s face it, if it’s not comfortable, you probably won’t use it. The device includes several earbud options and a detachable earloop to ensure you find a fit that matches the unique shape of your ear. I can leave the Jawbone in my ear for extended periods of time without discomfort.
