We’re blown away by Verizon’s latest, the new LG VX8500, the Chocolate. It’s the slickest new phone design we’ve seen this year. It looks like smooth black plastic, until you slide it open and the controls light up. The thing looks and feels like something you’d use to pilot a UFO, and its features are so cutting-edge that it makes you feel like a caveman for using your old model.
The sharp design hides a lot of great stuff. It gives you easy access to playlists and lets you connect to the V Cast Media Store; you can download over a million songs at $1.99 each, or you can connect through your PC for $0.99 and transfer it over to the LG Chocolate. The 1.3-megapixel camera has multi-step zoom and captures & plays back video. The external MicroSD slot lets you store more pictures, video & sound. It’s fully Bluetooth compatible, just hook it up to any Bluetooth earpiece and you’re good. Its voice-recognition lets you make calls, send messages, lookup names and more by speaking. The Chocolate also includes the standard features for phones: Calendars, alarm clock, calculator, notepad and scheduling tools. You even get access to VZ Navigator, for turn-by-turn navigation with audible voice directions to almost anywhere.
Basically, if you have the LG Chocolate you have everything you need when you’re travelling: A cell phone, light PDA, MP3 player and GPS, all wrapped up in a unique sliding design. It’s a sleek, attractive and futuristic way to stay connected to the world. They’re available in the cell section of the store at 1 Park Row (click here for directions), so stop in and give it a look.
