Some of the most beautiful and amazing things in our world are not on land. Activities like snorkeling have allowed us to have a glimpse of some of the wonders of the sea. It’s a shame, because most people will never get to experience the natural splendor of what lies off the shore firsthand. Thankfully, underwater digital cameras aimed at the general populace is gaining in popularity. Quite a few choices exist on the market, but one standout model is the Pentax Optio W60.

The Pentax Optio W60 is a compact, 10 megapixel point and shoot underwater camera. It can operate in up to 13 feet under water for more than two hours in below freezing temperatures. It’s equipped with a 5X optical zoom with a focal range of 28-140mm. It also has a HD recording mode that allows you to record in 720p. A 2.5″ anti-reflective LCD screen and shake reduction round it out as an ideal camera for snorkeling adventures or just pics by the pool.

The Pentax Optio W60 is available in blue and silver. Either one would make a great choice for someone who wants a great underwater camera.
